Message: What is a good steet slick for a 95 dakota 318,392 x 2 with 5 speed. last week end I went down to sac. raceway to a mopar event. I was not very happy with my truck. I ran 15.04 @ 93.89 the speed doesnt match the time . with the speed I should be in mid. 14s. I could not get it to hook up. it spun in every gear.60ft time was bad. so if anyone knows about a good street slick i would like to know. thanks

Message: If you want to go the cheap way, go to a dirt track where they race sprints and modifieds. Some of those guys will sell there used front tires. Only get the hoosiers not the good years. Good year dosnt make a dirt tire that looks like any of there street tires. The hoosiers look like the original quick time street tire. Usualy you can get them with 1/2 there tread still on them and they hook hard. Most will sell a pair for $25. Some may even give them away. I used to run them on my camaro and would get the front tires in the air every pass. They just wont last long. Maybe 2 or 3 track days depending on how many passes you make. Could make them last longer if you go easy on the burn outs.
