Message: I am thinkin about putting a fuel cell in my dakota because of the rear air suspension that is going to go on. What has to be done on our dakotas to put a fuel cell in. I have a 4.7L quad cab. Maybe is there a way to lift the stock tank up? Im gonna be layin on frame rail and the stock tank hangs bellow the frame rail. So I need to move it up or replace it. Can anyone help me? Thanx ahead of time guys. Take it easy

Message: Yeah, me......but thats a different application. If you put a fuel cell in your gonna have some issues with the PCM and fuel vaccum system. Don't forget our fuel system is a sealed system, no air in, no air out, thats why you get the "pop" sound when you take off your gas cap. you could do this a couple ways as i see it, get a smaller tank and put it in the stock location, or if you don't use your bed cut out a floor section and mount it between your frame....like where your spare used to go or something. The only reason you'd want to go with a cell over a tank is for weight distribution purposes tho. Good luck either way.
