 Subject: What trucks came w/ this transfer case?

The transfer case in my dakota is ruined. I have a 98 Dakota w/ a 5.2 and the NV3500 5 speed manual. What transfer case do I have, and what other trucks came with this case? and how hard are they to find?

I am almost positive you have a NP 231 case. There is a round metal id tag on the back of it. If you need one I have a reuilt one with less than 400 miles on it for sale. Email me if you are interested

For your information, Jeep Cherokee's with Command-Trac use NP231 transfer cases. This makes them VERY common since the Command-Trac system was used for almost 20 years.
