Subject: Over Heating problem IP: Logged
Message: My Question is simple for the 2003 4.7 Dakota, I made a mistake and put about a 1/4 gallon of regular green coolant in the reservor and after that I DROVE IT THREE DAYS AND MY CHECK ENGINE LITE CAME ON AND I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER. They tood me that the problem was a little peice of paper covered a sensor and it was fixed and then told me to get the coolant flushed as soon as I could because I had 100,000 mile coolant in my vehicle and the green coolant was inter mixing and it needed to be flusted. I told them that I had to get to work and took the truck. About 30 miles down the road my (Check Gauges) Lite came on and I seen the temp was pretty hi. I pulled over and as soon as I came to a stop the truck died. The truck is at the dealer now. I just want to know if the coolant mix could have created this problem? Because my truck only has 12,343 miles on it and I can't believe that could have done so much is so little time, Thanks to the responder in advance.....
