If anyone could help me it would be a lifesaver. I just purchased a 1997 5.2L V8 Dodge Dakota. 129,000 miles on it. I am under the impression that someone changed the transmission fluid and put some low quality stuff in it. Had it changed with good stuff. The truck shifts perfect between all gears except 2nd to drive. 2nd revs to around 2500 to 3000 before it attempts to shift. When it does the tranny slips for about five seconds or less, and then catches in drive. I am not very mechanically inclined but i cant afford to pay for a rebuilt transmission, which I doubt it needs anyways. Please help!!!
