Subject: Help! Ticking noise . IP: Logged
Message: Hey guys I've just started to get a ticking noise this last week. Along with some kind of vacuum leak by the power steering pump.
The ticking is only noticeable after 5 minutes of driving and then when I put it in park it goes away. So i can't tell exactly where it is coming from. I can hear it real good though when I go through tunnels or have walls on the sides of me while driving. Anybody have any guesses of what that might be before I take it in to the shop and get raped.
Thanks

Message: I had a tick like that on an old Ford. Turned out to be a u-joint.

Message: I have been fighting a ticking noise for the last couple months. Thought it may be valves, but my wife's uncle told me it is my injectors. At first I thought he was nuts, but I did some checking around and found this is actually quite a common problem. Although I haven't been able to find how anyone fixed it. I think I'm going to pick up some Ford 19# on Ebay and see if that takes care of it.

Message: I had a ticking noise on an old GMC Sierra that turned out to be electrical- I can't remember what it was precisely, but I found it when looking at it in the dark and saw the spark arcing to the frame from the wireing harness. Hope this helps.
No idea on the vacuum leak.
