well tution time has now rolled back in and i am in some need of some cash to help pay it off. i have an 88 dakota that i have converted from a 4 banger to a 318, while keeping the 5 sp OD tranny. tranny has been all gone through, new clutch, pressure plate, yadda, yadda. i used schumaker's engine brackets to get the small block to fit. motor is a honed, but unbored 80's block with flat top pistons, summit cam (nice lope), edelbrock aluminum intake, redone heads with new valves and about 40 hrs of port work. exhaust is stock manifolds into a true dual flowmaster setup. sounds good :) there is no a/c or p. steering... they werent optioned on this truck when it was new. but at 2900lbs, this could make a killer drag truck. paint is flaking some and windshield has a crack that doesnt obstruct the drivers view at all and doesnt leak any water. i keep her washed up and she is very presentable all the while. brakes have been recently done as well. tires are in great shape. no real dents or dings anywhere on the body . interior is also fairly clean and has a new seat cover. motor makes a small drip of oil if it sits awhile and has been making a tapping sound for a lil bit now as well. still runs good and pulls on many mustangs. i think it is a lifter that is stuck, but not sure. but i have a line on another 318 that is fabulous running shape(from what ive been told) for very cheap. i am in gainesville, fl and wouldnt mind helping put in a new short block if you live in the area. probibily a one day project. i already got all the hard stuff done :) now someone just needs to finish up the easy stuff and drive her! im asking $1200- which is less than the cost of just the tires, engine mount kit and head work alone! but i am very open to offers so please dont be shy to post here or email me at gatortex21@yahoo.com. i do have some pics so if you would like to see them email me. ok guys thanks!

yea it is carbed. but so was the original 4 banger so it was way easier that way. hp should be in the 280-300 range at the flywheel. havnt gotten time to dyno it. like i said it wats some of my buddies 5.0's and 4.6 stangs up easy. they drag race with me (i dont drag the truck, my other car is a camaro that i race) and they run mid 14's in the dead heat of summer. so i dont think it would be hard to have a easy 13 sec timeslip out of the dak. but ill throw in another complete 318 that is just rebuilt. that is if i get the $1200. please let me know :) thanks alot.
