Subject: gurgling radiator IP: Logged
Message: Welp, I got a radiator that gurgles and spits coolant out of the over flow. It's an '01 with the 287 V8 and auto trans. But at the same time it's not overheating very bad according to the guage cause I shut it off before it gets beyond the safe zone in the guage. I suspect the thermostat is sticking but I can also see the temp guage rise and fall a little while driving (as if it realy IS opening and closing). Also, it's sending fumes into the cab and misting up the side windows (but not the windshield!) If the heater core were leaking it seems it would fog the WINDSHIELD bigtime, but it's not. Has anyone in here ever had these symptoms? To complicate everyone's thoughts, it also has gone thru 3 heater core units in the last year (fixed under warranty)! Welp, any opinions on this deal? What else is there besides the thermostat and heater core. Taker easy...
P.S. No, it's not a leaking hose, I'm a little more advanced on the mech scale than that. Maybe it only needs a good flush job.

Message: Sounds like a bad radiator cap. Easy fix, just replace.
