 Subject: Tranny just started slipping!

I was headin home from the mountains last night and my tranny started seriously slipping around 70 mph which is around 2000 rpms for me. I wasnt really sure what was going on, but the tranny eventually stopped working. I had to call a tow truck to take it to the local tranny shop. Now i did have this same tranny rebuilt a year ago, but up until this incident its been working great. Any ideas what might have happened?

In 92, only autos were available.
Do you have the 500 or 518A? V6 or V8?
