 Subject: Timing Question

I have a pre-mag 1991 5.2. When the base timing is set at 10 BTDC as specified it runs like crap...stumbles when accelerating, poor power, lousy gas mileage. When I advance the timing 6 or 8 degrees it runs great and gas mileage improves considerably. Anyone know what could cause this? Thanks.

What can cause this is timing set for lowest emissions. Mopar's love extra advance - go with what works well.
