Message: Cut the wires to the light that illuminate it.
I don't think there is any other way. If there is, I'm all ears.

Message: Don't cut the wires, light may need to work to pass inspection depending on state and year. Key on off on off on to check code in odometer area also clears light. If that doesn't work try disconnecting battery and holding key to start for a minute.

Message: The on and off doesn't work. There are 2 lights on gen ii's. A check engine which will read for you when you do the 3 on and off things and the maint reqd light.
The maint reqd light warns people to pull into the local Dodge dealer to have their PCV valve and O2 sensor changed. The Dodge dealer is the only one who can reset it.
A black piece of electrical tape also blocks off the light nicely.

Message: 113,000 miles and my Maint Reqd light never came on. I still have my original O2 sensor. Don't those usually come on at 90k intervals or something? I have a friend with an Isuzu Trooper and thats what happened to him. Exactly at 90k and 180k.

Message: Mine came on a while ago... At least 4 years ago. Probably around 90k or something. It has 150k on it now. I've passed numerous emissions tests. Mark, you must be one of the lucky few.
