Hello,

I was wondering if you all can give me some pointers on why my truck will not idle after the battery went dead. I can jump the truck and it will start but will not idle/run on its own.

Thanks, P

You have retrain the idle on the 4.7s...

Start it-- help it idle with the pedal-- get it to about 1000 rpm-- once that settles, or shortly thereafter-- put it into drive if it's an automatic (with foot on the brake) and hold the idle around 1000-1100 rpm, in gear, brake on for about 60-90 seconds.

This will allow the IAC to sync the idle.

If you have problems/questions. Call me.

Hey Sam... I just installed a KRC206 cam in my 2002 Ram with 4.7l engine. My idle is all screwed up now and I can't seem to fix it. I have a F&B 70mm TB and I have tried to adjust it according to KRC instructions. It says to plug the hole for the IAC and adjust to 700-900rpm(your preference) and then unplug hole and engine rpm will surge but then will drop to 700-900rpm and stay there steady. My problem is that since I installed this cam my idle droped to 550-600. I am used to the normal idle I had of about 750 before the cam and I also have an underdrive pulley installed and need to be closer to 800rpm to satisfy the charging system. After I adjusted the TB the way KRC suggests my idle won't drop below 1300rpm. I am hoping that you might have some suggestions or different adjustment procedure to get back a normal idle rpm. Thanks TJ

Same problem with a friend's truck Tried the remedy listed by applying the break and holding rpms. Did not work in this case. Did we miss something?
