whenever i put a 180 thermostat in my 99 5.2 i get a code that the dealer says means iam running to cold of a thermostat.how do you guy use a 180 thermostat without throwing a code thanks.

Is there a reason for putting in a 180 thermostat?? The 5.2 is supposed to run alittle hotter for peak performance. If you have a over-heating problem you should look at that before you change the thermostat.

What brand of thermostat? THe cheap ones from the autoparts store can open at a temp much different than the advertized rate. Sometimes the more expensive ones can too.

And always check your thermostat in boiling water with a good guage to see exactly when it opens, and at what temperature it is. It seems like no 2 are alike..

Yea pretty much everyone runs a 180 stat without throwing any codes. Try another brand stat.
