Hi I have a 99 Dakota 5 speed.. Im going to do the 318 swap.. but does the 6cly tranny bolt up to the 318?? Thanks Jesse

As long as the V6 that you had was a magnum 3.9, then the tranny should bolt up to the V8. However, you will need a new computer to run the V8. I'm not sure (somebody on here will be able to tell you for sure), but you may or may not need a new flywheel, as well. You will also either need to splice in a few extra wires or get an altogether new wiring harness.

my 97 dakota has a 318, tranny slips.its a 44re4 speed auto rwd,what other trannys can i bolt up to the 318 ? will a 42 re work? or too many changes needed? thanks
