I have an 03 Dodge Dakota, that is why I come to this board. This question, however is about my 98 1500 Van with 5.2L and 3 speed Auto w/ OD. About 4 weeks ago the OD just started to turn on and off as if someone was pushing the button. It will even do this while it sits in the driveway running. I found that if I push and hold the button in it will stop so I rigged it until I could get to the dealer. The dealer took it in and when they removed my rig the OD wouldnt do it and was fine. They replaced the button and wiring in the stalk to be sure. Well yesterday it started doing it again. Does anyone have an idea what could cause this? I dont want to keep going back to the dealer so they can just swap parts to see and charge me a fortune. Help.
