I've been looking to swap out my 318 with a 408, but I can't find the specificatations on one of my major contenders, the MP crate 408. Mainly what are the actual components that go into it. Specificly which friggin' crank!!! You'd think it was an industrial secret or something!!! I appreciate any help on this.

More than likely a SCAT cast crank.

If you want to get it from the horse's mouth on the MP 408, look up Glendora Dodge in Glendora Calif and dial up their parts dept. If you were to order up a crate 408 it would likely ship out of their facility. They are associated with Dick Landy who has a hand in building those particular motors.

Had a dozen or so of them in stock as of a few weeks ago.

Good luck.

Thanks for the info. I'll call them up. There's got to be a reason that the stupid thing's a grand more than the 380hp 360. the parts cost difference isn't even close to that, even if you tack on about 100% markup!
