if you have a 2001, it probably came with a
68mm TB. You should port and polish it. Its
possible to have a 4.7 well over 300hp, just
depends on how much cash you want to
spend.

Turbo or supercharger on a stock 4.7 will
bring it to 300 maybe even more. change the
exhaust, intake, headers, throttle body, flash
the pcm, add a shot of nitrous, and hold onto
your @ss!!!!!

A blower or turbo will put it over 300 hp quite easily.... so will Nitrous. Or you can get fairly close to 300 hp NA (290?) with a custom PCM program, TB, free flowing intake and exhaust.

Of course this would be just a guess, but I would think you'd be making between 300 and 310 hp. I would guess at about 250 hp at the rear wheels.

Once again this is just a guess.

Well thats over 2 G's in mods and I'm kinda broke now so I'm kinda on a break while I regroup and save up again. Tryin to decide between 1.7 RR's or a custom PCM. It definatley feels like its up around 300hp. It was kinda funny my uncle, an old drag racer from the old days who used to rod the old hemi cudas and challenger R/T's was shocked when he took it for a spin, I think by the time he was done he was ready to buy one.

When you send in your PCM, and BTW mine's a 2003 with the 4-molex plugs, how long do you go without it?

Is there a place to buy an extra one?

God I wish someone would make a programmer. There's got to be 500 people on this board that would buy it alone!

How long its gone depends on how its shipped and if they're competent. UPS screwed up and sent my PCM to Alaska instead of MA; so for me it was a little while. I was glad I got a used PCM at carpart.com for $80 to run while the original was being flashed.

GraphiteDak: I think that even if someone would start selling pre-programmed PCM's they'd get a huge response. People say oh but the price would be high. Even if the price was upwards to $600-$700 dollars I bet people would jump on board if it meant they could keep their stock PCM and have substantial gains with the programmed PCM. I know I would.

If you by a PCM yourself, send it in to get flashed and shipping prices. It will probably cost somewhere between $800-$900. I think thats what I priced out a while ago. It's probably a bit more though. But then again. A business could purchase in bulk for a far lower cost.

Dear 4.7 Dak,
I just have one question for you before you begin modifying the truck. How LONG do you want it to last? Owning a 4.7 has been a string of jokes played upon me by Dodge. I wouldn't pour any more time into that piece of sh!t than I would Drano in a toilet bowl. Good luck getting the tranny to hold up.

Hey me - you've got mail.
Craig - seems like you could do that cheaper than you're figuring if you went with a boneyard PCM like I did.

How did you find a used one kowalski? I have been wanting to get mine flashed but i dont want to be without my truck. That would be nice if someone started selling PCMs that were already flashed. They could sell them and have a core charge. I would do that in a heartbeat.
