Message: There are hose clamps on them where the rubber tubes connect to the metal tubes which maze around the radiator. When I say maze, I do mean maze. Make a mental note how they were if you pull the cooler off your radiator. This requires removal of your radiator though. If you get the hose clamps off and still cant get them loose try twisting them adn they shoudl break free. If you pull too hard you'll stretch the hoses to the point where they break. Thats not too big of a deal since you can just buy new ones off a spool at the local pep boys but why bother with that hassle. worst case scenario you slice the stuck part off. It shoudl only be 1/2 inch. Then break it away from the metal tubing. When you reattach the rubber lines will just be a tiny bit tighter. I'd compare it to a heater hose more than an air hose. I had the sticky problem with my heater hoses. They are worse because you have coolent shooting out on your instead of trans fluid slowly dripping out.

Message: thanks for the help mark! but i have the radiator out and that is how i had to do it. the problem is this, there are no hose clamps where these hoses connect to the radiator itself. i cannot figure out how to get them off at the radiator. i am bogled. o yea, the reason i need to take them off is to put them on the new radiator so i can put it back together. thanks again!!!

Message: wait.. are these the hoses that go through the bottom of the radiator or the hoses that go to the trans cooler that is screwed into the front of the radiator? I think the trans cooler in ftont is an option to have in addition to having it go through the bottom of the radiator. If there are no hose clamps my guess is that someone forgot ot put them on. Please explain in more detail what you see? rubber hoses going into a tube that runs through the bottom of the radiator? If so try twisting the rubber instead of pulling. A little screwdriver can help too if you put it inside the tube a little to help to pry it off.

Message: I know this sounds bad but I have worked on a Ford van and the tranny cooler lines were tightened down with a box (open end) wrench. Flared tubes with a nut on the end and I think they were 7/16 or 1/2, not sure but, dodges may have used they same type of tubes.

Message: I've been there done that,
If their plastic funky things I know exactly what your looking at and they are the biggest pain in the A**.
There should be a "tab" sticking out on opposite sides pinch them together with pliers and push in then pull they'll come right off.
*** BUT YOU CAN'T RE-USE THEM ***
you need to replace them with new ones.
if you re-use them the lines will leak or pop off.
When you re-install the line to the RAD make sure you hear a click or they'll just pop off when you fire up the truck.
