i am about too undertake the job of servicing my tranny ..instaed of taking it too dealer.
i would like to ask for any tips tricks pointers etc..etc.
i know i need atf+4 ..but how many quarts????
which filter and gasket should i buy ..dealer????
what torque for the pan bolts on re-assembly????
this is my first time...so help me out please!!!!!!

Message: I think for your first time you should take it to a trans shop. A good shop will also drain your torque converter, thats where most of the fluid is. I have a 96 5.2 and have had mine serviced 3 times in 75k miles. Still shifts hard like it did when new. I have seen the shady work at (some) the dealers and would NEVER take mine to one for anything..!!!
Whatever you decide Good Luck.......And make sure you clean up your mess that you will probably make....LOL
