Message: I've been looking and have yet to find a catback exhaust that exits out the side behine the wheels. I've seen many that go straight back, but I don't like that.
Any ideas?

Message: I've looked, and they have straight back exhausts. Would it be possible to get a shop to bend the pipes when they install a system?

Message: Gibson calls their single side exhaust a "Swept Side" and the dual side exhaust "Dual Sport Truck". They both exit OUT THE SIDE of the vehicle behind the rear wheels. Gibson is available in aluminized or stainless. If you don't see it at first look around a little.

Message: I had seen that, and both exit out the same side instead of one on either side like I'm looking for (imagine the typical straight back system with the pipes bent sideways)
I'll keep looking, but having a shop bend a straight pipe setup or insert elbows looks like the most probable option.

Message: I went to a shop. Had a flowmaster 40 single in/dual out...and requested the tailpipes exit behind the rear tires. No problem. Cost me $270 for the works.

Message: If you want dual exhaust w/ one pipe comming behind each tire it's going to have to be custom done. Look under your truck and you'll see why. *No room for the pipe on the Drivers side. If the shop could do it it'd be one of a kind though ;-). I was thinking about that setup also... I'd love to see pics if you get it done.

Message: I just looked, I didn't realize that the spare was off centered like it was. There might still be room for one to exit right behind the tire (not the look I want) or it could be done but the bends would be fugly (last bend 2-3" from the end of the pipe). Or a third alternative is to remove the spare.
None of these really sound good to me.
Looks like the passenger side only deal has it.

Message: I'm looking to go with a side pipe set up on my CC 4.7. Similiar to what the old Vettes had. Does this sound/look like a bad idea? Anyone tried it?
I was thinking of coming straight off some headers into a cat on each side, then into a side pipe (on each side) which would incorporate a muffler and exit infront of the rear wheels. I would probably put a piece of expanded metal of the step area so I don't burn myself everytime I get in and out.
Sound Cool?

Message: I also wanted the side exit exhaust (duals). I called and visited a few muffler shops and was told i would have to remove the spare tire, I didn't want to have to keep it in the bed! To make a long story short I found a little shop and the old man told me "no problem". He told me he even had a template, been doing that same thing on daks for a few years.
I got my Flowmaster, single in and duals out (2 1/2) and went back, he was finished in an hour, looks sharp (sounds great and runs better) and the way I wanted it. And he charged me $100
Keep looking for a local shop to do that for you and don't buy the commercial ones, unless you have lots of $$$
