The 5.9 Ram has the same engine as the 5.9 Dakota R/T...say if I go into a parts store to find a part for my 01 R/T they'll most likely never have it but since a 1500 Ram w/ the 5.9L engine is more common I'll usually ask for a part for a 99-01 Ram 5.9

The main thing you need to be concerned about is you order the one thats 00-01 cuz the ones for the older models don't come w/ the balancer. So the one that says for Ram only will work on yours cuz the '00-'02 5.9 in the ram is the same engine thats in your R/T.

If you don't believe me call them up and see if it'll work on your R/T.

Or just go here

https://www.aspracing.com/ezRetail/search/view.php?msg_id=355

its cheaper when u order it direct from ASP. The reason why V8Performance says its for ram only cuz ASP says so but they are the same exact engine.

I used a 99 balancer on my 2000 so the crank pulley can be bolted on. The water pump pulley will actually bolt on top of the OEM allowing use of the full 3 pulley set for pre 99 to be used on 2000 up. The alt. pulley wasn't suppose to fit but it did. It may depend on the particular one used and the year. My rig has the heavy duty
charging and battery. The volt meter drops below
14 at idle but, haven't had any problems even with A/C on. Drilling the water pump pulley is a challenge and you'll need a very short 90 degree
drill or attachment. I don't know how much power they really add but the mill revs much freer. The original belt is reused.

OK WHICH PULLEY SET WILL PROVIDE MORE POWER?? THE

00-03 SINGLE CRANK PULLEY KIT FOR 230$ W/ BALANCER
OR THE

92-97 THREE PULLEY SET FOR 130$ PLUS I'D HAVE TO BUY A BALANCER FROM A 99 5.9L

I HAVE THE BETTER CHARGING ALTERNATOR ALSO SO I WOULD ASSUME THE THREE PULLEY KIT WILL FIT MY TRUCK ALSO..

I just (about a month ago) removed a March performance crank pulley from my 99 R/T. It's a 2-piece (pulley and balancer) and I believe the diameter is 4.25". I do mostly around-town driving and I never had any problems with my battery going dead or slow-to-start mornings. If anyone believes that these do not improve an R/T's performance, put one on and then take it off.
