Subject: IAT Sensor IP: Logged
Message: Could someone explain axactly what the IAT does and is it really worth the trouble of relocating it. I have a 2003 4.7 5 speed std

Message: I think on the 2003's it comes stock relocated to the airhat or someplace other than where it was on earlier models. No need to relocate.
It tells the computer the temp of the air going into the engine.
2000 4.7 CC auto, clear corners, Magnaflow catback, Kenne Bell s/c, Aquamist water injection.

Message: The IAT is on the front of the passenger side of your intake manifold. It looks kind of like an O2 sensor. If you notice that your truck accelerates better when it's cold, relocate it and trick your engine into thinking it's always cold and it will allow it to deliver more fuel, thus causing better acceleration. I did mine a few months back on the inside of the passenger fender and have been pleased with the results.
