Has anyone removed the EGR valve on their Dak? Heard it releases hp......any input appreciated.

No HP to be had. Removing it can make the engine ping in some cases.

Ported 68mm throttle body, IAT adjuster, 3" flowmaster cat back, TPS @ .76V, 4" cold air, Roadmaster active suspention, Removed Third cat. Electric fan Convertion, Awaiting HO cams.
Working on adjustable fuel pressure with return.

I just don't have a life thats all. lol I do enjoy it. Keeps me from doing house work. hehe Think I will put the cams in tomorrow. Should keep me busy for a few hours. To bad it snowed today I was almost getting traction in first gear. Oh well I will have to wait for summer to find out what I can make this thing do.

Everybody runs out in the street like their on drugs and you here cars crashing everywhere. I had a friend in high school get a Plymouth Duster 340 for Christmas....it snowed....no more Duster.

Eric there is no EGR on the 96 and up.
Handi2 we have ice as well. You know the stuff in the freezer. LOL It is 8° here this morning. No testing of the cams any time soon.

Hey I used to live in Pensacola. I went to UWF for a year, got kicked out, went to PJC for two years, graduated then moved down here to Ft. Myers. Pensacola smells funny. Fun town to party in though...obviously.

Hey Thomp...I was born here 47 years ago and it only smelt funny for 3 years. Oh that's right, you were here for that 3 years..!! Just kidding. I love this town. I live on the water in Gulf Breeze. My back yard is the sound. The beach bridge is just to the left of my house and the back of my house faces the beach. I just got out of the swimming pool. Heated of course. 70 degrees outside and sunny. Pool 95 degrees. Yea CW, I'm rubbing it in...!!
Ft Meyers is a beautiful place also.

my engine light came on. i stop by my mech. he hooked up his handheld diagnosis computer. the code "442 egr valve" came up. i understand there isnt one, but could this be the purge solenoid?

ok well i'm a girl and i dont know much about trucks.....so can someone please help.....i took my dodge dakota in and they hooked it up to there machineand it said it was the egr valve....well i read on here that they dont....can anyone tell me why the computer would tell me thats what was wrong with it if it dont even have one.....thank you ...janelle ferns

the 442 code is an evaperative system leak. thats what it was on
my truck. turns out the gas cap if it is lose can trigger this code.
check the cap and reset your computer by removeing the
negative terminal from your battery....

02 Dakota 4.7 real wierd idle after I
washed out engine com I've changed plugs
and tps and cleaned the ias. There is a
vac line that comes off the tb when I pull
it engin seems to run better I pulled a
vac on that line and it holds am I looking
in the right direction.. please help
