Subject: Strange Electrical Problem IP: Logged
Message: Well one more thing, had a strange electrical problem got in my truck friday went to start it and all my acccesories were so faint could barly see them(Sounds like battery) After about 5 seconds of sitting with the key in ACC positon all the lights came on and the truck started fine. Then while driving my aftermarket radio shut right off for about 2 seconds then came back(Strange) So truck strated fine friday then went away for the weekend came back sunday started fine. Went out monday and bang dead again (had to boost it with the civic) Yes i am hanging my head in shame:) any thoughts.
one last question anyone have a way to bring color back to a fiberglass topper?

sounds like you know the solution. If you had to jump start, then your battery is weak, not holding charge or not getting charge. Check battery with load tester. Make sure battery terminals are very clean, free of corrosion, and the clamps are tight. If this doesn't help, then check alt. output, should be about 13.5-14 volts.
As for topper the only thing to bring color back if it is faded is new paint. If it's just dull color then you can compond and wax the surface. Make sure whoever does it knows what they are doing and doesn't leave swirl marks.

Message: Well i had the battery tested they said it was good and the terminals are almost shinny silver. I noticed my neg cable was loss so i have to tighten it. as for the alternator any directon on testing it as i have just strated doing my own work on my truck.
As for honda they would probaly make it look like the element:)

Message: Do you get similar problems when the truck is running? If you do, doesnt sound like a battery. Bad wire connection or wire(s) shorting intermitten. The loose ground cable sounds like a solution.

Message: I have the power overhead convenience group option on my 2003 dakota (compass, temp, etc.) Today, it blanked out for awhile. What's going on here? I was low on fuel. When I gased up, it returned to normal.....

Message: well looks to be working had one of my battery cables was exposed looked like it was shorting out ot somthing draning the battery.
