Message: Flowmasters are common and maybe a little too common. I have Magna Flow on my Ram and it sounds pretty tough. Makes it sound like a deep growl like a truck should. Then you have Raven which sounds pretty tough too.

Message: Put the magnaflow 3" single on last week. Sounds really good on my 4.7L 5spd. No stupid loud gunshot noises like other exhausts. Though it may be in my head, but I think there was a loss in power due to reducing the back pressure. Good luck.

Message: Reducing back pressure genrally increases power letting the exhaust gasses flow out of the cyl head more efficently. You shouldnt have lost any power.

Message: By reducing backpressure your torque will drop but your HP will increase. As with any mechanical device there will be trade offs, one for the other. Most commonly misunderstood, torque x time (sec) equals speed.

Message: CHERRY BOMB!!! Only $15, 5 minute install, and low mean growl! I couldn't be happier! Oh, and the lower back pressure increased my HP. It takes a while for the truck to adjust, but it is a definate improvement.

Message: I don't think it is so much the loss in backpressure as it is the larger diameter tubes drop the exhaust gas velocity so it doesn't flow as well at low rpm's. But it is true, it will improve with time as the computer adjusts.
