Was wondering if anyone knew if a 1993 2W Dodge transmission is interchangeble with a 92 Dodge Dakota 4x4, V8 engine?

what engine is in the 2wd? if its a v8 then it should have an A518 tranny, which is gonna be the same as the 4x4. I haven't dug into tranny research for about a year so don't quote me on that. might check out www.phoenixhardparts.com as they have a cool tranny ID wizard on there that can tell you the factory installed trans for each year/model. good luck

I have a Dakota 4x4 V8 with A518 tranny with overdrive. I love my truck with a 3 inch lift. Last year it went through a fire and was all re done and is now painted just for me. 3 weeks ago I
stopped at a stop sign. pulled away it shifted 1-2 went for 3-4 and I heard a small pop and had NO gears at all just Park. I have remove it put was told it is fine?? Not to me! HELP!!
