Also, you need to do some exhaust work to really get the full performance from your engine with those mods. The model year of your vehicle will determine the best ECU flash to get...

Message: Hey Demon Dakota,
How the long tube headers coming along? I am wait for some more results. I am eager to get a set if they are making some good power and you can fab them up in large numbers. Also, is your truck a 4x2? And how did you route the true duals after the third cat was cut out? Good luck on the header project again.

Message: Long tube headers would eliminate the y-pipe correct? I was thinking of having a custom y-pipe made but will hold off.
kota02: I'm guessing your Dakota is an '02 4.7L. The only available flash for you currently is the Kenne Bell optimizer flash. It'll give you about 12rwhp. Get a free flow cat and open up your exhaust like Demon said. If you want some hard core traction I'd recommend Powertrax no-slip. Some guys on here have had really good results from what I understand. Focus on your suspension as well!! Get some better shocks, maybe a mild drop (2/3), and a roadmaster active suspension.
I just put my RAS and KYB monomax shocks on yesterday. What a difference. It lanches really really nice now. My only complaint, which I knew would happen anyhow, is that the RAS lifted my rear suspension up pretty good. So I may do a hotchkis 2/3 drop now to bring it back down.

Message: The long tube design I'm building/testing/fabbing is strictly for true dual exhaust, and there are 2 high flow cats included. You can use the stock O2 sensors, or replace them with new ones, or use the O2 sensor eliminators. The headers actually run back past the point where the stock Y is, so yes you absolutely have to remove the entire stock system. It really is a pretty long assembly. It's not really a DIY type mod, either(unless you really have the space and tools). The pipes run down the right side of the vehicle (pretty close to each other) and I currently have them split out the back. I'm probably going to switch them to a right side exit...probably in front of the wheel, but that's still up in the air.
As far as mass production, well, I can't even get into that part yet since I do have a full time job. Before I go mass production, I'll have a test group buy of 10 sets for those N/A folks who want to try them out. There's still no way to set an MSRP price on them yet b/c I don't have a factory up and running :)~ I also have to do all the business start up type stuff and check local ordanances, codes, blah blah blah...
In other words, mass production is still a ways off right now. I'm getting my heads worked over (ported, larger valves, stronger springs...etc) this month (August), so we'll see what kind of overall gains I get with the re-worked heads and the LTH's. I hope to reach the 270-280 RWHP range with further tuning in early September. I want to swap cranks with the Jeep HO version (if it's even possible) and get the forged connecting rods and pistons at the same time so I can get BLOWN! Maybe by early next year I'll be in the 450-500 RWHP range and still be street legal (hopefully). Well, that's about all the info I can think of right now. I'd post more often, but work is a total PITA, and I have a total of 3 project vehicles working at the same time, so time is at a premium.

Message: Hey thanks for the info, I was wondering when you would give up the dirt on those headers!! Good luck on getting it going. I already have the third cat off, so doing a whole exhust change isn't a big deal. I just wanted to get an idea of how the progress on them was going. Good luck again!

Message: I guess I may have to go to tru duals if those headers produce the numbers. We'll see. This means i'm gonna have to get another magnaflow too. Hmm...thats always fun though.

Message: True Duals gained me 3/10ths on my ET with just JBA Shorties. I'm not sure where this urban legend about 4.7L's needing a single and back pressure came from, but it isn't true. I still have mucho low end and plenty more top end.
