Subject: difference in R/T and Sport IP: Logged
Message: What are the main differences in an R/T and a Sport? I wish I could have gotten an R/T, but we were looking to get a new truck before I left and this dealership had a great deal on a nice looking 99 Dakota Sport 4x2 (one sexy machine, I most say)...anyways, what if I wanted to make my sport into something like R/T? Thanks

Message: R/T- 5.9l v8, 1 inch lower all around, 2000^ has a performance muffler from chrysler, 1999-1998 has a mopar/magnaflo muffler, 17" rims, fender flares (if your sport doesnt have them) and painted bumpers.

Message: So if I were to do mods to my truck to make it fit an R/T....is it worthy enough to call it an R/T? There's my opinion poll of the day

Message: It doesn't matter how much you do to it - you can't call it an R/T because it isn't one - be proud of what you have.
Besides - it make people feel worse when they find out they lost to a 318 Sport , not an R/T.

Message: yeah, I wouldn't anyways, but ya know, gotta voice out my random thoughts, lol... plus, great point about people feeling bad about getting beat by a sport...plus, I don't want my truck lowered...it would look sexier lifted (and gives me more reason to help the girls up) ;)

Message: Not Much!! If your truck was built around Change-Over chancers are you have R/T parts on a Sport or SLT---R/T is an option,It's lowered 1 inch yet it still uses the same shock,Bumpers are Painted to match,Bigger sway bar on the rear, and the wheels and fender flairs.
They still have the same bad ball joints and rotors as the Sports and SLT.Oh the base price is higher $24,000.00 and UP!!!!!!!!!!

Message: I have the 99 sport as well and I’m planning on buying a sniper
body kit for it but it’s for the R/T would the parts still fit my 99?
Also are the flares the same or different and so could the R/T flares
fit on my 99 sport.?
