Subject: Help with Quad Cab.... IP: Logged
Message: I want to buy a Sport Plus Quad Cab with the 4.7L
I will be doing the following...
80% back and forth to work
15% towing a 24' travel trailer (3450lbs)
5% offroading with my cousin and his group
I was looking into a Quad Cab with a 5spd manual, anti-slip differential, and 3.55s. Would this be a good combination? Not sure if I should opt for the 5spd Auto or the 5spd manual, that is the biggest decision for me, I like both but since I do a good bit of towing and some offroading I was thinking I would be disappointed with an Auto instead of the manual.
Any suggestions? I'm just trying to figure out a good setup for what I am doing.
Thanks!

Message: I would say go with the 5spd Manual over the Auto. I bought an Auto 2001 Quad Cab 4x4 and my friend just bought a 2002, same truck as mine but he has the 5spd manual and I like the power he gets out of his better. Plus, if you are towing and offroading, 5spd is the way to go, I will definitely be getting a 5spd on my next go around.
