Message: Got the same problem. Running mine grounded out, only problem the fan is always on high. Are you sure your switch is good? Dealer service mgr told me switch was out, 200-300 $ to replace it. Let me know if you find a cheaper solution, I'll do the same.

Message: I had that problem. It was under warranty at the time. They hardwired it on high until the part came in. They said it was a bad switch.

Message: Having the same issue with my 01, count myself lucky that the fan works on high, only. Not looking forward to paying 60.00 just to have them say I need a new switch that will caost $200-$300 to replace. Has anyone replaced their on there own? How tough is the dash to get apart?

Message: Before you spend money replacing the switch, check your fan motor resistor stack. If the resistors that reduce the current to the fan motor so it will turn at slow speeds burn out, or the connections to them go bad, the fan will often operate on only the high speed (no resistance in series with the fan motor). This thing used to be located on the firewall in the older Daks, but on the newer models, I think I've heard that it's actually in the air vent plumbing, somewhere close to the trans tunnel.

Message: I have a 93 Dakota, with the same problem. It was the resistor bank. It seems that these banks are in the hood compartment and are subject to rusting, my electrictian just switched the leads to another open bank and my fan works fine, this is after I replaced the fan and lost the retaining spring for the fan.
