Going home about 8 this eve. Pulled to a light,sitting there not really thinking of a race of any kind when all of a sudden this ricer pulls next to me. There he is in all his gawdy glory with his girl in the car, looks at me and guns the engine, rocking forward and back with his clutch. Green light and he's gone! At first I let him go. Na!!!! pushed the pedal to the floor, in overdrive no less. passed right by him! Thought it was over and let off the gas. NOPE, dummy pegs it again! A quick lift and drop of the pedal all I saw was his car in the rear view. Not bad for not really trying that hard. He met me at the next light, gave me a thumbs up and a wave and faded slowly away. DAMN I LOVE THIS TRUCK!!!!! (wuba and guys, wish you could have been there!) DAKS RULE!!!!

BTW you can road race and be careful about it as long as you are paying attention to your surroundings and not the retard in the civic in your rear view...nice kill hammers, what year, engine, truck u got?

Road racing is never cool!!!! ahahahah ya right..... Be careful though... there are some morons out there that will race in residential areas and school zones and such... DO NOT!!! Keep it safe.... Go to the track if ya want to go really fast!!!!!! It doesn't take too much speed to burn a ricer!!!! First 100 feet should do it!!! By then you know you're going to kill him. Two truck lengths is usually where I let off.

I'll probably get flamed for saying this, but can you tell us anything about the "ricer's" car? If were talking a old corolla/civic with altezza's and a pipe I'm not impressed. Even if that's the case, you might get to your speed limiter faster, but he'd eventually catch and pass you even stock.
Not trying to be a dick and I love my Dodge, but I've also got a new civic and it'd eat my durango up every day of the week. Stoplight to stoplight I think the Durango would win, but on the interstate the civic makes 120 a cake-walk.
Again, definitely don't want to start a war that I'll undoubtedly loose... just pointing out a different perspective.

Just stick to track racing. Interstate highway racing is for people who don't want to live long. It's natural selection. I'm still yet to even race my truck at a track. There are no local tracks in S.W. Florida.
This wasn't meant to flame. Just remember that there are alot of other drivers on the roads. And as far as you know people are like squirels. You never know how they might react to on coming traffic.

I took my truck out to the track and spanked some ass. It's only the 1/8 mile but i ran a 9.2, that is pretty quiq for stock.

Not really trying to pnyone off, just thought it was neat. I don't usually race anyone, I may play around with ricers, but overall, I'm usually a good, careful, driver. In this instance I think it was because of my mufflre, I think he thought if it was loud, that I must be a racer. The car? not really sure with all the stuff hanging off of it. Some sort of Nissan I think. It was a real pretty color though!

Hey HAMMERS I think its cool too, just to see a truck beat a car that thinks its fast. we have a lot of street racers in texas. so there area bunch of ricers around here and there arnt to many that can beat me.

A stock what? My GenII 318 is quick but won't touch my... I'll just say "other Dodge" 4 cyl to save myself the humiliation. My "other Dodge" was only pulling 9.8's and there are few things other than Camaros, Mustangs and turbo Eclipses that are even fun to play with on the street. Most of the posers are running mid 10's in there primered Hondas. What should I expect out of a GenII 318 w/auto, s/b & std. cab
I ran the "other Dodge" against a GenII long before I got mine and he lost, mostly due wheel spin trying to show out in second gear, but he still lost!
What are you guys running in the 1/8th with mods under $1000 total?

daks top out at like 115...ive had my se-r up to 124(could hit 130 if i had a lot of room)...spec vs can go 145...if you are racing ricers make sure they are civics and not cars don't need to be wound up before they go...
i messed with a V8 dak QC 4x4 once...couldn't hang at all. i also saw a cavilier with a fart muffler hanging with an R/T with me on their tail(because i didn't get next to the r/t at the light). anyway...even if u beat us off the line..thats all you are gonna do. go try that on an RSX Type S(or dodges very own SRT-4). Rice owns you...hahahaha

hmmmm.... i had my dak to 131 mph and it was still pulling (naturally aspirated).
just because the computer wants you to stop at 110-115 doesnt mean you can turn your key on

intense...from what I remember your car was HEAVILY modded. besides a spec v can hit 131 really easy...only reason i can't is my lame 4 speed auto gear ratio. You are like the fastest V6 out there..u had n2o. anything with vtec(besides civic ex and some of the newer i-vtec cars) can hit 131 real easy.
once i mod my car...no speed limiter...will go up to 160 with enough power

just normal bolt on when i did that... no boost no nitrous no nothing.
the low gear of cars and their aerodynamics helps them achieve those speeds. With a truck its a power issue.
my other car, i had, if it didnt have a rev limiter, could of gone pretty darn fast. Its gears were so low that it could do 45 mph in first, 90 in second... and third and fourth would just bounce around 110. I would of loved to race a V-spec in that car, toast!
my parents camaro has achieved 177 mph with a few bolt ons and hypertech programmer (get rid of the factory 150 mph limiter (why 150???) because of its 2.73 rear gears.

normal bolt ons?? like what...my truck once got up to 112 after much thrashing with I/E/jet 2 chip...i know my truck was heavier..but 131 is pretty far from 112.
btw a V-Spec would hand you ur ass since a V-spec is a Skyline GTR...as for a spec V...sure...ud kill it

being that vette tend to run high 12s and 4.7 dakotas tend to run high 14s if they are RC 5 speed 2wd, that is still two seconds u need to take off ur quarter just to hang with a stock vette...wtf are u smoking...camaros aren't to slow either.

nothing abnormal about those...

ok ok...if i had the money id be back right now, I miss my truck, but I would say the probably not for at least 5 years(unless i make mad dough then Ill get one sooner)depends what happens when i graduate. dakota is still like 3rd or 4th on my list of cars to get so dont hold your breathe...i may be back one day though

when you're 18 years old making $7 an hour, you have to look at what you can afford. For me i wanted a regular cab dakota with a sunroof and had to be intense blue. Besides i dont think you could get a factory installed sunroof in anything other than a V6, it fit the pocket book well at the time.
thanx for the compliment! I hope to one day not have a V6... but not a 5.2-5.9-4.7... if its gonna be swapped.. its gonna be swapped good.
as for the NA comment. I know of one naturally aspirated dakota putting down like 340 wrhp (stock bottom end)... i am sure there are more like it.

Sounds sweet 47kota..sadly most dont realize the RT engine is set up towing..pulling off the line hard..so most are unhappy when they are smoked at around 60-70mph..the time it takes some of them riceburners to get wound up...The 360 is a great engine it just has to be retooled a bit..new innards..the guy who did my engine work has a RT that dynos out at almost 400 rwhp..all engine work no turbo crap no supercharger..no NOS..and his is badged as a plain ol 6 banger :) talk about surprised looks when he smokes the tires....
