Subject: 92-96 Cold Air Induction

I have looked into having a mold built to produce a "top hat" for a cold air induction setup specifically for the 92-96 318 Dakota Sports. It is not cheap and I was wondering how many people would be interested in such a product if it were available. It would basically be a zero restriction elbow to go from 3" OD PVC into the throttle body. This product would fit any setup with a 5" ID TB mounting surface. It would be an affective replacement for any factory top hat, reducing restriction, streightening out the air flow and reducing the amount of surface area the cool air comes in contact with between the outside and the TB.

Please give me some feedback so I know if this venture is worth persuing. If this becomes a possibility, I will sell this item to anyone who responds to this post, for my manufacturing cost.

Please send inquiries to performancenthusiasts@comcast.net.

I would think that there would be a gradually decreasing market for such an application on the GenII. Actually, I felt the stock setup worked quite well for sub-300 horsepower mods. I had a '92 5.2 RC with Catco converter into Flowmaster 70 2 2/12" duals, Mopar Perf. computer. It had the plastic bug deflector removed for mini-ram-air, and a K&N drop-in. I wouldn't have changed that setup. That big air cleaner lid even looked 60's retro, especially in this age of "divorced" filter systems!
