Went today to pick up my FIPK. Thought about making one but was unsure at first. Let me just say that those of you that have made your own deserve a sincere Thanks in helping me decide what to do!!! The Gen 2 would have to be ordered and ranged in price from $219 to about $500 at PEP BOYS, so I looked at the Airaid, WHAT A PIECE OF JUNK!!!! $174 FOR A FILTER AND SHORT PIECE OF STEEL TUBING ABOUT 10 IN. LONG THAT ATTACHES DIRECTLY TO THE RESTRICTIVE FLEXIBLE TUBE ON THE STOCK HAT. ARE THESE FOLKS NUTS OR WHAT???
It's HOMEBREW time!!! THANKS TO ALL!!!!

Yeah, hanging a filter under the hood is damn right stupid and a waste of your money!
And I don't respect anyone for selling such worthless crap!

HOME BREW IS BEST!

Thanks again to Troy and 03Dak! Hey guys, Mines a 97' SLT 5.2. Any trouble with water? I also like the air openings down low. Just removed that darn flap to let more air in and created a small ram air to bring air in directly from inside the gril til I get done building the CAI. Any more photos of your intakes?

Hammers: did you mean GenIII ('97-up)? Anyway, I pulled up my description of my setup under "What is the best intake?" on the Performance Board just now.
