so last nite the hemi finally started up in my 2001 reg cab dakota RT. after blowing my engine 6 months ago with a 200 shot of n20 (by the way it blew after about 7 bottles) i was going to start with another 360 and make it into a stroker 408. however my brother just bought a new Ram for his wife and didnt get the Hemi, but told me the hemi was only a 835 dollar option, so before he bought it, we convienced the dealer to make the factory here in warren, michigan to ship out a fresh new hemi to my doorstep, took it a month to get here. (dealer is my step uncle, so he pulled some strings) anyways after a few months we finally matted up the hemi to the dakotas tranny, but it will prolly not hold up for too long. second hardest part was fabbing some better engine mounts. so now i have to decide rather to build up the engine internally or slap on a twin screw blower, and my brother already started working on a new tranny, completely custom made by his shop, they are making every part from the bell housing to the lighter fly wheel to the shifter and gates (its gonna be a 6spd) and im talking to andy about a powertrak to put the power to the ground. pics will hopefully be up after the 15th.

This is good news Kyle. Can't wait to see your pics, and see some numbers.
What kind of changes or cutting did you have to do to shoe-horn the engine into the bay?
I take it you are using a computer for a 03Ram? Throttle body setup?
Any problems along the way? What did you do for exhaust?
Do you live in an emissions testing state?
Congrats... Be sure to post those pics up on the 15th.

BTW if you can hold off for a couple years, the 2005 run of Daks will have Hemi's as a option. With optional 6 speed automatics made in germany by Mercedes!

I seriously doubt you can purchase the hemi for 895.00 it might cost that much as an option as part of the truck, but stand alone you probably need to move the decimal one space to the right....dumnass

Hemi's Cost $850.00 in addition to the Trade in value of the Standard engine. Example...
Standard 4.7 V8 may be $2500.00. 5.7 V8 is 3350.00. The difference being 850 dollars hence it only costs $850 to UPGRADE to a Hemi. If hemis cost 850 do you really think we would be buying $2500 dollar SC and $400 HO parts to get a little Horsepower?

Sleepy, that key phrase is "upgrade". Since I don't believe his brother was going to pull the engine that came with his new Ram out, to get an additional Hemi, he would be looking at some serious cash.
Completely different wiring harness and control system than the Dak. I gotta raise the BS flag on this one too.

hello gents, i see we meet again. first off i went to a local yard and got almost everything electrical and gauge wise from a 03 ram so dont worry about that part. and what 24s? i have chrome 17 in RT rims up front and the same ones in the back but widened 11 inches. il prolly have pics by the 14th now.

so you got the hemi to mate up to the tranny that was in your dakota... and yet you had a 360 before.
man i just want to slap the crap out of you.
The hemi's bolt pattern doesnt fit that of a 46RE... or a 727/904/999/989/500/518/600/618/42rh/42re/44rh/44re.. or the 46rh.
now i dont remember you saying that you put a 45rfe in there? because thats what they come with!
dang guys... suprised you didnt catch that one! I am sure that "someone" could get the wiring working but i doubt that someone could get a square to fit in a round hole.

Hey Kyle,your thinking about chevy there buddie there the ones that have interchangable parts,example: 360 motor cannot bolt up to ever tranny out there,chevy's example:350 can bolt up ever tranny so can the big block chevy's...lol...i guess i'm calling B.S. on this on too.
