Subject: Air dam or not? IP: Logged
Message: Do you think having an air dam in the 4.7 for the airaid intake is better than having it wide open. today I took the air dam around the filter and replaced it with pvc to hold the filter. also is ok to leave the crank case breather tube open or should i get a little filter put on. thanks

Message: as far as the air box is concerned, you may be getting more air to your filter, but that air will probably be warmer.. so a plus/minus effect. the breather does need a filter. you don't want to suck filth into your crank case.

Message: there wont be any difference in prfmoerance . if you want a great air filter the best money can buy look at the amsoil Synthetic nanofibre filter , I am a technician and let me tell you the k and n filter gets plugged up easily on top of that its not a great filter it still allows fine dust through the filter i have seen this myself since i had a k and n filter on my car you are better off buying an OEM filter for your vehicle from your dealer
