Alot the mud comes from the inner fenders. No flap is here from the factory. I made some for mine out of aluminum and it works great. Just make you some out of plastic, rubber, aluminum, etc. and it should cut down on the muddy engine a good bit.

I just used aluminum flashing for roofs on houses. I bent and cut it the way the size I needed and drilled 3 holes in the factory plastic inner fender. I then secured the shields with nuts and bolts. Also painted them black. Very easy to do and they work extremely well.

Good idea on the flaps, Could you use some sort of automotive plastic too? If your not all that handy though buy yourself a quality pressure washer. This is an easy way to keep it clean and nice to work on. But then again if you buy it cause your not handy, who cares how it is to work on. Catch 22!

Yeah, I hate cleaning my truck too. It looks good clean, but it is a pain to do. Hope the flaps work well for you.
