My check engine light is on and when I start and go it has a hard time shifting into 2nd. After it shifts the trans works great. It will work great as long as I don't shut it off. Once I shut it off and re-start, again it will shift rough into 2nd then again it works fine. Why is it doing this? I'm assuming it's some kind of sensor. Please advise.

Check your engine codes. Also provide info about your truck, yr/mk/eng. etc.
