Message: I know they have a kit for the 5.9/5.2/and 4.7. On thier site they say that the 4.7 kit adds 136hp and 123 ft-lbs. max. They say it turns the 0-60 times from 7.2 into 5.6 and 1/4 times from 15.6@86mph to 14.2@97mph. The max rear wheel hp is increased by 76hp and the peak is moved up from 4700 to 5800 rpm's.
The 5.9 kit is supposed to add 112 max rear wheel TQ and 99 ft-lbs. at peak TQ at 2900rpm's. The hp gets a max increase of 100 rear wheel horses and the peak increased of 76 hp at 4500 rpm's instead of 3900.
Since the 5.2 has a bigger cam I would think the increase for the rear hp would be around 90 max and 70 at the peak. The torque would probably be around 95 max and 80 at it's peak.

Message: I was on the Kenne Bell website just today and POWER HUNGRY is right, those are the numbers posted. I'm currently in the market for a supercharger.
One thing I couldn't find on their site was the price. That worries me. I sent em' an E-mail a couple of hours ago so I should know the damage by tomorrow.
Blowzilla a great name. However, it sounds like it should be on a ricer.

Message: Have any of you guys looked into the procharger system. I think it might give K.B a run for its money with the air to air package. Some are available now and I think the 5.2's in November. Check out procharger.com

Message: Well since I already have at least 250 hp at the flywheel, and my last dyno BEFORE the HO cam & Intake install was just over 208 RWHP, I'd better get about 350 crank HP from just the 6psi Kenne Bell kit for the 4.7L. I just need to get the dang time and funds together for another set of dyno runs to check what the cams and intake did. Oh yeah, I added the IAT adjuster after my last dyno as well. Should be interesting.

That's what I'm thinking (typo), but hopefully I'll find out in a couple of months. I fully plan on upgrading to the 9-10psi kit shortly thereafter. Definitely going to run an intercooler though.

Message: according to this pic, that's right above their little dyno chart it doesn't make any where near 136 RWHP
I just think it's kinda funny that they show these 2 pics on the same page, but yet they contradict each other. Don't they charge enough money for these things where they could afford to hire someone to proof read there site before showing it to the world?????

Message: The 136hp/123 ft-lbs is not the increase at peak #'s. They got those gains at top end when the NA power curve drops off and the supercharger's # are still climbing. On thier site They say STOCK SC
peak RWHP 193@4700 rpm 270@5800 rpm
The real difference is the flat TQ curve. The superchargered 4.7 showed on drop of 30 ft-lbs from 3000-5800 rpm's, while the NA motor dropped about 140 ft-lbs in the same range.
MANIAC, The site says:
Availability Dates
• 96-01 5.9 Ram (2wd and 4wd) September 20
• 97-01 5.9 Dakota/Durango (2wd only) September 27
• 97-01 4wd Dakota/Durango, all 5.2’s November 15
I do think the Procharger kit has a better top-end and adjustability (wider boost range for street use). The kenne bell still has instant full boost working in it's favor.

Message: looks to me like they're talking about at the highest rpm they show they got that improvement. look at the power curve and how the kb one keeps going up and the stock drops off after 5000. its not peak power vs. peak power deceiving if you dont look at it close enough though eh?

Message: The numbers on the graphs are the gains at that rpm. Its hard to see the rpms but its from 3000-5800 rpms in 400 rpm intervals.
The thing that really sucks is that they don't show the 5.2 results, they only show the 5.9s. We do get a good idea of the 5.2's out-put based on the 5.9's increase. Its basicly the same motor except the 5.2 should pickup a little more HP and a little less TQ than the 240hp 360 that was tested. The main differnce being that the 5.2's NA power is produced at a higher Rpm( better top-end VE). Just the thought of it still puts an evil grin on my face..
