i think my starter is not disemgaugeing after i start the truck. when i turn it off it sounds like when i turn it on. please help.

If that is the case I doubt your starter would work at all after driving around for a few minutes even with just the solenoid engaged. While your truck is running go and listen to your starter, if it is engaged you should be able to hear it or feel it with your hand. You could try replacing the solenoid, but last I check I completely assembled starter and solenoid from autozone or oreillys is only a few dollars more than the solenoid itself.
