Hey guys, I'm back with more troubles with my 95 4x2 dak. Over the past few years I've been having transmissions go left and right. A few days ago my check engine light come on so I hooked up the snap-on scanner and it says the part throttle unlock switch isn't functioning properly. Is this the same thing as the torque converter clutch solenoid?

I've had the same shop do my transmissions for the past few years (actually only two) and I've been through 4 complete rebuilds. Three of 'em with my 42rh and one on a 46rh. My motor is a mildly build 318 but it'll take most mustang GT's (excuse my language) with no problem. I shouldn't be blowing transmissions this often. What can be done to beef it up a bit.

While I have a relatively minor problem now with the torque converter not unlocking I'm sick of dealing with trans problems. Is the shop screwing me or what is going on here?

Thanks
Geoff Fahl

I'd say at the least get a new trans. Dodge has never had good autos. If you can get an aftermarket trans that suits your needs. Another opinion is one of these new DIAMLERchrysler trannies. Mercedes has always had good trans. so when more the diamler designed ones come out (like the new 5speed auto) try one of those if your brand loyal.
