Subject: ? on stock injectors IP: Logged
Message: when i first got my r/t i could not hear the injectors at all. now that i have been modifying it i can definately hear them and feel them working. i assume this means that i am starting to make them work quite a bit harder. should i go ahead and upgrade them to 24lb ones if i can hear and fell them working? i would rather go ahead and spend the 250 for new ones than wait for the stock ones to start to fail.

Message: What do injectors sound like (or feel like)?
I've done some mods and was thinking I might upgrade injectors.
What would happen if you only NEEDED 19# injectors but INSTLALLED the 24# injectors?

Message: they sound like a chattering noise. aren't the stock ones only good for 300hp? my gtech shows me 270 so i would say i'm alittle over 300 at the crank right now.

Message: not for sure what would happen if you upgraded to 24lb when you really didn't need them. i would think that the computer would just not work them as hard, to a certain extent though, assuming you have some mods. if you don't have any mods and put them in you would probably run very rich and set a code for the check engine light

Message: I just changed over to the 24# injectors. I estimate I am around 300 Hp. Once my M1 intake comes in I should be in the 320 range. Before I added them, the engine would not rev well above 3500rpm's, now it pulls real hard from 3000 to 5500(haven't pressed any harder). I do have what seems to be a dead spot from 2200 to 2800(computer may not have reset fully yet), but I hope the M1 will relieve that. They are not the Ford 24# injectors that run 26 - 27 1/2 lbs, they are the pink matched true 24# injectors which are about 2 1/2 lbs higher that stock 19# injectors. Got them from fiveomotorsport for about $140.

Message: the m1 is a nice outfit. i've got one on my truck. it and the mopar pcm are a very good combination. i love it. i did notice alittle bit of drop in bottom end but it more than made up for it in mid and top end.

Message: I intentionally add mods that are more that what I need. I'm never sure where my quest for performance will end.
(Examples 52 MM TB, 8.5 wires, MSD ignition)
However I don't want to add something that will hurt performance.
I hate adding something that I will have to replace in the near future because its not compatible with the next level of modification.
(Examples: K&N drop in filter, Bosch 4s)
I've got an idea, you upgrade to the 24's and let us know how they work out!!! In comparison with other mods the injectors are relatively inexpensive.

Message: i'd say i probably will order them. i'll let you know how they turn out. the worst thing that can happen is i will have to pull them back out and save them for later.
