Subject: 4.7 Manifold after porting IP: Logged
Message: While porting the TB I noticed that there is a small little tab hanging down in the opening of the manifold. Looks like an edge gate for filling the part during the molding process that wasn't trimmed flush. Can anyone confirm this and if it's ok to trim this little guy flush? Or does it swirl air in some mysterious way....???

Message: when i put on my f&b 70mm i noticed the tab you are talking about. With the new t-body the butterfly was scraping it a little so i broke out the dremel and removed it. I have had no problems from removing it.

Message: Almost all the F&B TB's will hit that little tab. It's in there to break up or cancel the "standing wave" that forms in the throat of the intake manifold. That wave is the harmonic that's responsible for everyone feeling vibration in the gas pedal. So, there's really nothing wrong with trimming it out. I did.
