Subject: 4.7 intake kits IP: Logged
Message: Does anyone have any info on the G-forced intake kits for the 4.7 daks? Possibly any pictures? I have e-mailed them 3 times and have not had a reply from them yet. Any help would be great.
Thanks,
chris

Message: I got my reply a few minutes after I posted the question, not a very good reply either. Do not know if the person was drunk, drugged, or what!(simple words misspelled, and and total lack of information!) After that reply I have the same the feelings as you. Anyway, do you have any input on what intakes are worth the money?
Thanks,
chris

Message: Yeah I don't think the intake will be out anytime soon. The e-mail I got from G-forced some time ago didn't make much since but it was obvious they weren't making much progress.

Message: I have the AirRaid Quick-fit Cold Air Dam and it really opened up the sound on my Flowmaster not to mention the intake noise under the hood sounds cool too. I will say that the difference in torque is noticeable and throttle response is quicker with the factory airhat off. I recently saw that Roar Intakes had dynoed the same kit I have on a truck with gibson catback which showed a loss in 1hp than with factory intake on, I am not sure that I believe this since just adding a cone filter to the end of your factory accordian should not decrease hp and that is basically how the AirRaid system works. Who knows and who can you believe unless you see results for yourself...

Message: I also have an airaid kit on my truck, although it is the quick fit system. This kit looks great but Iactully slowed down 3 tenths at the track. Hence the reason I am shopping around for a new kit.

Message: Three Tenths! Crap! That's a big difference... any other testimonials for the AirRaid CAD would be appreciated such as Dyno Numbers or Track Slip Differances, good or bad...
Thanks Chris for the info, I will be shopping around too if I find that the AirRaid kit is reducing my performance and/or mpg, I just don't want to spend the money for a dyno run myself if someone else has already did it. Instead I would probably just go with the Stage I kit with 70mm TB, 4" ZTube and IAT adjuster from Speedtweaks and put the dyno money saved towards that:)

Message: 2THEXTRM,
I always hate to to admit that something I paid for actually did not work, but in this case I just have to let as many people know as possible. The airaid kit looks great and was a breeze to install, but would give all that up for a 3 tenths improvement over a loss any day. I think i have decided to go with the Z-tube, looks kinda funny but oh well!
thanks,
chris

Message: there is a guy on ebay that sells intakes, his email address is grism70@yahoo.com I put one of his intakes on my 4.7L alot better than airaid. his intakes connect directly to the throttle body. It sounds, looks, and works great.

Message: Thanks Chris for the numbers. I also have the Airaid on my 2002. I think 2THEXTRM (great name) has the right idea and I'll probably do the same. Whenever they answer my emails. I have the 180 thermostat from them but I am waiting for an answer for the other items. If you get any more numbers all is greatly appreciated.

Message: handi2,
I see you have the roadmaster active suspension on your truck. How do you like that set up? Do they help out with axle windup, and wheelhop?
thanks,
chris

Message: I first saw the Roadmaster on the Crank and Chrome TV show. Their claim is that it will reduce axle wrap and help carry weight safely. I bought the setup b/c I had the truck lowered 2" in the front and 3" in the rear. (To make it easier b/c I'm in a wheelchair). In the rear they used different springs so I installed the Roadmaster to help carry a load when needed. (I now don't have as much wheel travel in the rear as stock). One thing I notice is the reduction of sway or roll when cornering. I still get some wheel hop when flooring it while cornering. I think they are worth the money but again I don't have the stock rear springs.

Message: handi2,
thanks for the info. I saw the same show, looks like a good product. I cannot decide wwhich traction device to go with, my two top choices are the cal-tracs bars or the active suspension.
thanks again,
chris

Message: Which aftermarket throttle bodies are most effective? Has anyone use magnum performance? Their web-site show several models. I am most interested in increasing torque in low/mid rpm range. Only mods to date are airaid airbox mod(doesn't sound like a winner!) and Gibson cat back system. (2001 4x4,4.7, auto, 3.92LS) Thanks for any info.! Jim

Message: Try the HO cams for a good torque gain. You could also port the 68 mm TB that's on your truck.
