Im deciding on whether or not to get a '97 dakota, it has 90,000miles, v8 5.2, and i was just wondering if the transmissions are bad on these too?? thanks alot

The transmission will be as good or bad as the last person who owned it. My 97 4x4 5.2 had 270,000trouble free miles on it when I traded it and it was still going strong but I do regular fluid changes.
If the last guy was an idiot and just bought gas, then yes there is a good chance the whole truck is shot. If the last owner was consciences and performed good routine maintenance then the truck should be in good shape.
