Do you have to drop the fuel tank to get to it?

Message: Yes, you have to drop the tank. The filter, sender, pickup, etc. are all one unit. This is an expensive piece. Run the tank down as low as possible to lighten it up before removal. This really helps during the reinstallation.

Message: Yes,It's in the tank.I found it was easier to take the bed off.I believe it was six bolts.Unplug taillight harness.Ibelieve three screws on fuel filler neck to take out and undo vent hose.A couple of friends to take it off.It took me about 30 minutes to take off.Bolts on fuel tank are a pain to get to.When the bed is off the whole tank is exposed, and easy to replace the whole fuel pump assembly. I paid aronnd $160.00 for the assembly and easy to replace.

Message: The regulator is right there too if you want to replace that at the same time. I think I paid $43 for a new one.

Message: Your filters are in the tank?!?! Mine is on the chassis! Was on the chassis on my 92 V6 and on my 95 V8. Follow the line from the pump up the inside of the C-shaped beam on the driver's side and you should see it. If not, then these guys are right and that is insane! I replace my filter every 50k miles. I also use high-flow filters for when I feel like running down some Chevy S-10 or Ford Ranger. Those guys always talk like they have V8's under the hood like us. poor souls!

Message: There is two, atleast on my 93'. One is in the tank on the sending unit. The other one is on the inside of the driver's frame rail near the back of the cab.
