well i just got a new 03 dodge dakota club cab, its an automatic with a v8, ive tried every way i can think of to get it to peel out and cant get it to spin, am i missing something? is it ust me or will it not do it? any help would be nice

try power breaking, or just wait till it rains, if you have the 3.55 gears it is hard to get more than a cherp out of them unless is cold outside, other wise you will need some mods, or a rear gear change,you could also opt for smaller tires
01 QC 4.7, flowmaster, autolite plugs, k&n air intake, more mods to come

I have 5.2 auto with 3.55 limited slip and I can lay down both rears for 50' and bark em going into second!
Your truck doesn't happen to be a 4x that is in 4x ?

i have a 97 5.2 v8 with the 5spd and 3.55 and i can burn up in 1 and 2nd and chirp a bit in 3rd. why did u get a auto?

yes it is a 4x4, and the reason i got an auto was because family tends to drive it, and i still live ast home (parents pay for everything but the payment) so i didnt really say to much when they asked me to get a standard

my old 3.9 with 3.55s would spin one tire from a stop on dry pavement and it waz pretty much stock...maybe you should make sure all your plug wires are connected to all the plugs?

Since it has to be the 4.7, give it some time. My truck ('03, v8, CC, 4wd, 5-speed, 3.92) really woke up after about 500 or 600 miles. I think this is a program i the computer while the truck is braking in. SO try it again at 1000 miles. I know from a stanstill my Jeep with the 4.7 and Auto will put down some rubber, but Jeeps come with 3.73's factory.

Believe it or not i have a kenne bell s/cer and still find it really won't bust loose from a dead stop. I think the LSD and the auto just eat it up. I start to spin at about 2500-3000 rpm though, if i let it.

I bought a 2001 2wd CC 4.7l auto with 7 miles on it.
I could easily, EASILY, spin the tires when I pulled off the lot.

I have a 2002 4.7L 2WD with 3.55's and can spin the tires with no problem. And that was before I installed the HO cams, exhaust, intake, thermostat, and other things I have done.
Don't know what's up with yours.

Only mods I have are a K&N drop in filter and Flowmaster deltaflow 40 series muffler.

Dude dont worry about it. My 2000 dakota has a 4.7 and it wont peel out for long. In some cases it spins pretty good others it jsut goes. If I power brake it it will smoke them all day long.
Im also running 33s on mine

Why wont my 4.7 burn rubber in second gear that would be sweat, It will if I pop the clutch but just a chirp I want to spin em, there is no way my 4.7 would spin tires if it was a Auto, the guys saying they spin theres real easy must have 14" tires lol, mine are 31" tall.

My wife told me that something was wrong with my 97 5.2 and that it just wouldnt take off. Then I told her you have to press the pedal past the second spring, lol. After that, she just said wow when she found the real pedal. Just the drop in K&N and flowmaster 40's on it for now. Anyone have any ideas on stopping the right wheel from breaking loose and spinning all the time? Is there an economical locker solution out there? ---Never overlook the simple things

I bet the truck is an AWD. Mine is. The truck doesn't have the HP to bust loose the anti-spin AWD system... and if it did, i'm sure it would scatter the transfer case.

I have an 01 with an anti spin rear end but it tries to everytime I make a sharp turn. Wet or mud I have to be careful because it will spin easily. I prefer not buying tires, but I'm not sure if I like this anti spin system.

I have a 95 Dakota CC 4x4 V8 5.2L, and it has always spun very good in first and second. I have an automatic transmission also. I added a K&N filter, Tornado Air, and a 180deg (stock was 195deg) thermostat, as well as switched over to the orange coolant. Today I put in my Bosch Platinum 4's and the thing spins and spins and spins... and I have all-terrain tires. This is WITH the camper-shell I got for free on it. Back when I first got it, it would only spin decent without the shell. After I added the K&N and the Tornado Air it would spin with the shell, but not as well as I'd like. Now it's just insane.

The magic phrase is Full Time AWD. This is what i was referring to. you can't bust loose an AWD truck without SERIOUS torque. You won't be able to lay this kind of torque down with the automatic tranny.

Tornado is crap. gimmick. unlike fluid, air will always rise to a lower pressure at the same rate, no matter what. this is where the add can mislead people. However, air turbulance can actually SLOW down the air entering your throttle body, which would result in more torque.. but not noticeable.
What happens to this so-called 'twister' when it hits the butterfly inside? NO MORE TORNADO.. that's what.
Maybe the reason these people are recording better mileage with the tornado, is because they are TRYING to get the most mileage out of it. It's all psych.
