why a RT forum? RTs are so much diff from 5.2 liters dude. also, if there was a RT forum, people with 5.9L quad cabs and such would butt in and try to hang out with us.

I have a 4.7L dakota, CC, 2wd. I envy R/T owners, I would love to have one, but they don't make it with a manual trans. I kind of feel ashamed when people mistake my truck for an R/T, and I have correct them. lots of respect to R/T owners.

I have an RT and no they are not that fast stock but who is gonna leave their truck stock. When I bought my truck I looked at potential. Its all about what you do to it no matter what size the engine is.

I like dakota r/t's but they are not all that fast. My 95 Dak CC was faster than r/t's stock. I usually ran 4 tenths of a second faster than a stock r/t standard cab at the track. I dont try to compare my truck to them now because my truck is modified with nitrous and running 12.4's. I do like the r/t's a lot though. There are a lot of r/t owners that are snobs, thinking they are better than you, but in reality they are slower and paid more money for there trucks. Sorry to all the r/t's owners who are nice, but the jerks ruin it for you and give you a bad rep. When i come across a r/t...i admire it and talk to the owner...if he is an a$$ , i enjoy smoking his a$$ off the street.

lol.. i got noting against 4.7's, 5.2's, or even the v6... but damn, all the 4.7 guys talkin smack gets annoying... and the "you paid more" arguement.. BS. if you wanna sacrifice the time, i bet you could find a gen 2 lightning for the cost of a 4.7. my 99 r/t cost less than my 99 sport, by about 4 THOUSAND dollars. go figure.
ya you can argue new cost.. but unless youre just loaded or really really HAVE to have a brand new truck... no one buys new.

You see the 4.7 guys are whining and trying to compare and justify there decisions again. Don't see all the V6 & 5.2 guys writing crap pissing off people so they don't want to post anymore. Don't get me wrong the 4.7 is a nice truck but nothing seperates you from the stock v6 guys, other than what's under the hood. The RT well you've seen them and you can't get them mixed up with the V6 or 4.7 V8. I like all dakota's but they have this forum set up seperating all these trucks so why not add another. If we all met for a meet and people talked and responed to questions like on this forum there would be alot of ass kicking.

Hey I also have respect for all the Dak owners in here, but also am very tired of hearing nearly every 4.7 owner claim their quicker.
This board simply does not have enough people that respect each others rides. More bashing than brains, it's a shame really because there is a wealth of knowledge to be had from some very knowledgeable people on here stuck in between the rest of the bulls$$t.

i wanted a r/t but could not afford the insurance,and being a single parent on a budget the v6 auto r/c had to do for now,when the v6 wears out,i'll put in 360 with all the goodies smokem till the wheels fall off

for me it went :r/t-395 per month,5.2-279 per month,v6-209 per month,4 cyl.-110 per month,hell my payment of 450$ would have been the same for any of above,ins. is mandetory in az,none of the f@$#%*&^&ing wet back basterds have insurance, f#%$@ing wet backs hit my truck 3 times since i bought it new,i been shot at by the wets and it was their fault

R/t's are great looking and handeling trucks, it's just a shame that they only come in auto with a dog of an engine. It either needs the hemi or the 4.7 HO and a 5spd option.

It's all good guys.
Can't we all get along??? I am not the fastest, but am happy with how mine runs--- I do best in bracket racing anyway!
Couple years ago at Firebird raceway-- we had all the classes covered with Dakotas-- a 3.9L won the slowest street class (15 sec and slower), a 5.2L won the next fastest class-- and the other 2-3 classes.. RTs took it to finals in all but one.
There's a few fast 4.7Ls out there-- as well as a few NA 5.9Ls...
Just wait--- 2-3 years, the 6.1L hemi guys will be getting bitched at by the 5.7L hemis... hehe

Look guys, Fords and Chevys make me YAWN. I've owned a '92 5.2 and a '01 4.7, and driven several R/T's. I love 'em all, and enjoy the variety. Quit the family fued BS....
