I was wondering who has the most miles on their truck. My brother has 105k on his 00 4.7 without any problems, (which isnt alot) and i have 51k on my 99 5.2 (not many at all), but I have heard some 300k before.
Just curious, let me know of any problems along the way too please...

Had a '92 5.2 RC with 217K before it was totalled, original engine/trans/rear. Current '01 4.7 RC with 52K: no sweat.

I don't know if this counts...
My uncle just retired his 89' 1/2 ton 5.2l ram last week that has 416,000 miles. It's still running only just sounds like a diesel now. He was worried about it breaking down driving 120 miles a day and with the amount of money needed to fix it he decided to picked up a 97' 2500 4x4 instead. Original motor, second trans 3spd, second rear (org. broke while avoiding an accident). I also have a pic of it towing a 30' 1977 eggharbor boat(25,000+lbs) when it was 2 monthes old.

I have a 98 slt with 116,317 miles on it and it's running stronger than the day we brought it home.....drive em till the wheels fall off...lol

Just turned 132K on my 97CC. It stalled for the first time on me today. I was at a red light and when it turned green, I gunned it and at about 4000? rpms (it was up there), right before i was gonna throw it into 2nd, it stalled. Any ideas?

My brother has a 1992 Dakota 4X4 217,000 miles on same motor/tranny/rear end. He has only had to make some small fixes along the way. 5.2L purrs like a kitten less the flowmaster exhause of cource. He told me the other day that the tranny feels like it's fixin to go tho.

I've got 765 miles on my 03 dakota 4.7L i figured i'd add the other end of it in on my message. I have a pic of it having 4 miles on it tho.... i love that pic.

As I said before, my bro turned about 105k and he is worried that the tranny is gonna go out because our friend works at a tranny shop and says that the dodges arent exactly the best of the bunch? Anybody had any problems with that?

The old man I bought my truck from 2 years ago had the trans (A-518) rebuilt less than a year before I bought it. I went at 75,000 because of the cooler line being clogged. The trans is still a P.O.S. and I'm slowly beating it to death with constant WOT redline shifts >:). I'll probably replace it with a street/strip 727 and a gear vendor OD when it goes( about 3grand). Its cheaper than converting to a HD manual, Keisler 5-Speed Kit $2900 for 475hp trans and $3400 for 650 trans. I guess will see...

I have a 00 Dodge Dakota 4.7L and I have 122,000 mile currently and still going. Im going to need to do a tune up real soon and upgrade the sound system.

'96 SLT V8, 151K, Castrol 10W30 and Purolator Plus filter. Uses less than a quart of oil every 3K miles.

I have a 2000 with 131000. Bought it with 102000
on it. Still runs great. Will need to do a tune-up soon though

Hey all!
Just to get in this... I have a 1997 Dodge Dakota Club Cab 5.2 liter. It has 197,000 miles on it and is running like a charm. I have done my preventative maintenance on it (i.e. Distributor, plugs/wires, Ignition coil, hoses, water pump etc...) but the reason I believe that it is still running so good is because it has had it's oil changed every 3000-4000 miles. I have been using quaker state. I don't really believe what kind of oil you use matters. If you start with regular 10/30 oil stick with it... but don't put synthetic oil in a higher milage engine because this could do more harm then good. Just stick with one type of oil. Whether it is regular or synthetic. Have a good one guys and gals!

Bought my 00 Dak CC 4.7 with 60K on it. At that time it used about 1/2 quart every 5000 miles. I changed the oil over to Castrol Syntec 5/50 and now have 95K on the truck.
Incredible thing, it doesn't use oil anymore. I usually change the filter every 5k and the oil every 10K, heck the oil is almost clean when it's drained. Guess synthetic oil does more than just protect the engine since it stopped the engine from using oil.
