Shape. size. and especially WIDTH!!! Are they smooth or textured? I like ones with little ridges on them! I get a good feel that way.

I like smacking around my Hurst T-handle knob that i put on in place of the stocker. It gives me good positive feel when I smack it around a bit;) It also feels good in the palm of my hand. It can be had at any discount auto parts store.
