Subject: light weight rims IP: Logged
Message: What are some fairly light rims that will fit our crazy bolt pattern, and that are still street legal. I have been searching around but have come up with nothing. I love the R/T rims, but have heard they are way too heavy. I have 265/70r16 on the stock rims. They can't be much heavier than these. Any ideas?

Message: Check out Center Line's Orbital 2000 series. I just sold a set of 16x8 Tracers in our bolt pattern. They only weigh 20lbs each (an R/T rim weighs 35 by comparison).

Message: i'm selling a set of kmc billet aluminum wheels but they're 15x7's. They fit all 2 wheel drive dakotas with 6 bolt patterns. They are in good shape with tires on them. Tires arent great but will do for the summer. If anybody interested E-mail me and i can show some pictures. I want $300 or make a deal on some dakota parts. I have a 2000 cc with a 4.7 and 392 gears, 5 speed manual trans. Any performance parts available for swap let me know. E-mail me at richie7n7@hotmail.com

Message: I agree with the wheels being too heavy. I had a 2001 SLT with the lighter 15"X5.5" wheels and now I have an '02 SLT with the almost R/T looking rims that are 16"X8". These wheels and tires are nearly twice as heavy as my '01. This causes the wheels to hop over bumps. When your going fast around corners it's not fun when your tires won't stay in contact with the road. I'm looking for a much lighter wheel and tire combo myself. I might just put some 15" wheels and tires on. Finding wheels to fit the Dakota is one of the most difficult aspects of owning a Dakota. Some one at DC really had their head up their ass when they designed the bolt hole pattern for the Dakota.
